May 2016 Wrap Up

This month I read a totale of 12 books! Some of them were short stories but I am still very proud of myself :) because this is like a record for me, I hope I will be able to read as much next month as I did this one! Here is a short summary of the books I have read:

Uprooted – Naomi Novik
Rating: ★★★★.5
I heard about this book everywhere!! Everyone was loving it so much! The cover is also absolutely gorgeous so of course I had to read it!! And I am glad I did!! This book was amazing! It thought it was a really original and interesting read. I fell in love with the story, it just pulled me in! the story gave me a fairy tale like feeling and I always love that!! And the writing is amazing too!!

A Court of Mist and Fury – Sarah J. Maas
Rating: ★★★★★
I had been anticipating this book ever since I read A Court of Thorns and Roses last year. I absolutely love all of Sarah J. Maas her books and this one was no exception. This book was so so good!!! It was a least ten times better than the first book of the series, and the first book was already absolutely amazing!! But this book just gripped me and didn’t let me go! It sucked me in and when it was over it threw me out and crushed my heart into tiny bits… But I still love it!! This book left me with a massive book hangover I hadn’t had for a while. I could talk hours about this book!! So gooodd!!!

Welcome to the Shadowhunter Academy + The Lost Herondale – Cassandra Clare
Rating: ★★★★.5
These stories made me so happy! I have been reading the shadowhunter novels for such a long time now, and I recently reread all of them because Lady Midnight was coming out. So of course I had to go and read the short stories as well! I always wondered what would happen to Simon and now I can find out :) I hope I will be able to read the other stories soon!

The Giver – Lois Lowry
Rating: ★★★.75
This was one of those books I had been wanting to read for a long while, and now I finally have!! I quite liked this book. It was a fast-paced and short read. I do wish it was longer though. In my opinion some of the things are rushed and would’ve loved to know more about the history in the book and how that particular society came to be. But still a good read!

The Magicians Nephew + The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – C.S. Lewis
Rating: ★★★★
Well, I finally read the first two novels in the Narnia Chronicles :) I know I should’ve read them a long time ago but I kept procrastinating and I don’t know why… and now I really regret it!! They were amazing, fun and fast reads and I love them!! I really hope I will be able to read the other books soon :)

The Selection, The Elite and The One – Kiera Cass

Rating:
all three of them between ★★★.5 and ★★★★
I actually never had any intention reading these, I don’t know why, but my sister made me read them since they are her favourites and I am glad she did!! For some reason I didn’t think I would like them but I ended up loving them quite a lot :) Some of the choices that were made by the main character annoyed me a little but that’s okay I still really enjoyed them and they were so easy to read! I flew through them :)

Dreamology – Lucy Keating
Rating: ★★★★★

Okay I am absolutely in love with this book!!! The story is so cute and fluffy and sweet!! I am normally not much of a contemporary reader but I fell in love with this story and its characters! I actually did a full review on this book. (my very first review to be exact :) ) For my full review click here: Dreamology -Lucy Keating

The Hidden Oracle – Rick Riordan
Rating: ★★★★★
How can I give this book anything other than a five-star rating!? It deserves more than five stars :) Rick Riordan managed to create another master piece!! It pulled me back into the world of Percy Jackson and I didn’t even realise I missed it so much, but I did!! I am glad I got to go back there again and I can’t wait for the next book to release!! Full review coming soon!

The Unexpected Everything – Morgan Matson
Rating: ★★★★.75
Even though it had a bit of a slow start, I really really loved this book!! The story is amazing and the characters are absolutely wonderful and extremely lovable!! And I loved all the adventures they had together in this book! It’s a book that is about friendship, family and love and the author did a tremendous job on these subjects! Her writing was absolutely amazing!!! Full review coming soon :)
