June 2016 Wrap Up

I read a total of 5 books this month…. Definitely not as good as the previous month when I read like 12 books :) but still decent given the fact that I was super busy this month with the performances of our schools musical that I participated in (I didn’t really have a talking role because I am too shy but I was on stage a lot as a dancer and figurant :) ) Of course I didn’t read most of the books from my June TBR (I read only two) :) but let’s get on with it. (oh and if you click on the cover it will automatically link you to its goodreads page :)

Prince of Thorns – Mark Lawrence
Rating: ★★★.75
This was a really dark and twisted book with a main character that isn’t very likeable, which is really fun to read once in a while. The story was very original and really well done :) I especially liked the little pieces of text between the chapters!! It was a bit difficult to understand at some points but eventually everything was quite clear. This is certainly recommended to everyone who enjoys a good dark fantasy :)

The Last Star – Rick Yancey
Rating: ★★★.75
The Last Star is the third and final book in the 5th Wave trilogy. I really liked it!! I wasn’t that much of a fan of the second book but I think this one is a lot better!! I really liked the way this book was written, with the switching between POV’s, that really build up the tension! I was also blown away by that ending!! I really liked it even though it’s a quite open ending :) I really hope we will get to know more because he can’t just end it like that!! I want to know what happens next!!!

The Raven Boys – Maggie Stiefvater
Rating: ★★★★★
I am in love with this book!!!! It was AmAziNG!! Truly outstanding!! I loved every aspect of it! It was a mysterious, exciting, fun and magical read with amazing characters!! Definitely one of the best books I have read this year! And if the other books in this series are just as good, it will probably one of my favourite series too!! I am so glad I finally read this book! I did a full review on this one :) so if you want to check it out just click here: full review :)

Passenger – Alexandra Bracken
Rating: ★★★★.25

This book was outstanding!! It was a really fun and interesting read with and end that leaves you absolutely mind blown!!! PHENOMENAL!!! Really well done!! I especially loved the time-traveling aspect. It was really interesting to read about! The only flaw is that the story started out a little slow in the beginning… but the rest of the book definitely made up for that!!! Full review coming soon :)

Whitechapel Fiend – Cassandra Clare
Rating: ★★★★.5

I loved this short story!!! From the three I’ve read this is by far my favourite!! I loved it how we got to read a bit more about Tessa, Will and their children!! And when little James stabbed the pillow and said duck I just couldn’t stop smiling!! I am really looking forward to reading all the other short stories :) and when I’m done with that I can finally read Lady Midnight, which I should have done a long time ago :)
