The Unexpected Everything - Morgan Matson

General Info
Rating: ★★★★.75

Where I got it: Online bookstore

Short reaction: This story made me so happy!!

Fav Quote: “I could do this. If whole galaxies could change, so could I.”

Synopsis
Andie had it all planned out.

When you are a politician’s daughter who’s pretty much raised yourself, you learn everything can be planned or spun, or both. Especially your future.

Important internship? Check.

Amazing friends? Check.

Guys? Check (as long as we’re talking no more than three weeks).

But that was before the scandal. Before having to be in the same house with her dad. Before walking an insane number of dogs. That was before Clark and those few months that might change her whole life.

Because here’s the thing—if everything’s planned out, you can never find the unexpected.

And where’s the fun in that?

Review
Overall Opinion: I Loved this book!! It was such a fun read and so well done!! This book just made me happy. I loved every aspect of it!! Definitely one of the best contemporaries I have read so far (not that I have read many …. :) ) I already want to reread it!! It was just so funny, light, sweet and enjoyable!! I’d definitely recommend it if you love contemporary!!

Writing: The writing was really good! It was really comfortable to read and before I knew it hours had passed!! It was funny and I really loved how the author inserted all those text messages between Andie and her friends!! Those were really well done!!

Plot: I found the plot to be very enjoyable and original!! Dog walking for an entire summer! Amazing!! And even though there was also a serious storyline in this novel it wasn’t to heavy which made it a light read with a summery feeling to it. Even though it is a light read it does send across a strong message about friendship and family which will encourage you to think about it. That’s the main reason why Morgan Matsons writing is so good in this book! (I haven’t read her others yet… will do that soon though!)

Characters: Oohhhh I love all the characters!!! They are all so wonderful and they have amazing personalities!! They all fit so well together!! And I really loved the diversity of their names!! Especially the girls’ names Andie, Palmer, Bri and Toby. And all the things they did together!! As of right now I have a very strong urge to organize a scavenger hunt myself and do that with my friends. (So if any of my friends reads this, just know there will be a scavenger hunt soon, whether you like it or not :) )

Relationships: The relationships were the best part about the entire book!! The friendship between Andie and the girls, the romances, the family bonds, everything was so realistic!! Of course all those relationships aren’t perfect, they had their flaws, but that’s what makes them so good!! And I loved to see how all the characters developed and grew so much together!!

Layout: The book itself is gorgeous as well!! I absolutely loved the cover!! With all those dogs on it :) I have the hardcover edition and on the inside of the dustjacket is a picture as well and I really love it!!

Flaws: This book was near perfect!! The only tiny flaw was that it started out a little bit slow… but once I read a little more it was forgiven because I flew through the rest of the book!!

Sum-up: So, as I have mentioned many times before, this book was truly amazing!! It was funny, original but it also set me to think about friendship and family. Do I recommend it? Definitely!! Everybody should read it :)
