July 2016 Wrap Up

Wow, I’ve read a total of 10 books this month! And even though vacation has started which means I had more time to read, I’m still proud of myself :) I’ve read some amazing books this month so let’s begin with the wrap up:

The Raven Cycle – Maggie Stiefvater

Rating: ★★★★★

I loved this series so much!! I finished the first book: the Raven Boys in June but the other three books I did finish in July: The Dream Thieves, Blue Lily Lily Blue and The Raven King. This series is one of the best series I have ever read!!! And I wasn’t ready for it to end!! I already miss all those amazing and wonderful characters so much!! This series will forever and always have a special place in my heart!! I already want to reread them! Why can’t Maggie Stiefvater write more books in this series!!! I have done full reviews on all these books so check them out if you want for more of my thoughts on this phenomenal series :)

Ivory and Bone – Julie Eshbaugh
Rating: ★★★★.5
This was a really interesting and fun read!! It is very loosely based gender swapped version of Pride and Prejudice. As I haven’t read Pride and Prejudice yet I can’t really confirm that but that is what everyone says :) It is set in Prehistoric time which adds a very unique feeling to the story! I always love prehistoric books so I devoured this book!! :) I really loved it and I think it is really well done and original!! So I recommend reading this book!! Trust me, it’s amazing!! I can’t wait for the sequel!! I have also done a full review on this book so feel free to check it out: Ivory and Bone – Julie Eshbaugh

The Problem With Forever – Jennifer L. Armentrout
Rating: ★★★★
This book was truly amazing and heart-breaking!! It deals with things like abuse, social anxiety, drugs and more. It is a powerful read that really sets you to thinking about society today and how lucky you are with what you’ve got. It was a really emotional and beautiful book! I fell in love with Jennifer L. Armentrouts writing and I am looking forward to reading more of her books in the future! This story was truly remarkable and I think that everyone should read it!!

Happily Ever After – Kiera Cass
Rating: ★★★★
These stories were a lot of fun to read!! It really gives you the opportunity to see the story from the perspective of the other characters instead of only America, which was really interesting to read! I especially loved Maxons perspective of his first meeting with America!! That was really funny to read!! I also really enjoyed reading about the selection process of Masons mother! If you have read the selection series that you should certainly read these short stories!! They are really enjoyable and wonderful!

The Heir and The Crown – Kiera Cass

Rating: ★★★ & ★★★★
I admit that I initially didn’t like Eadlyn at all… I couldn’t really relate to her during the first half of the Heir but after that I slowly started to love her!! She goes through some immense character development in the second half of the Heir and during the Crown. And that was really well done!! I really loved all of the boys that entered the Selection and I couldn’t be more happy with the ending!!! Even though I liked the selection better these two books were also really enjoyable and fun to read!!

The Assassin’s Blade – Sarah J. Maas
Rating: ★★★★
I didn’t even realise how much I missed this world until I started reading this book!! I had already read the other books in this series but I never read all these novellas…. I was afraid to read them actually because well everyone who has read the throne of glass books knows what I am talking about :) But I had to read them if I wanted to reread the entire series, so I did it anyway…. And it broke my heart into tiny pieces as I expected… but I don’t regret reading it!! Not at all actually!! It made me love this series even more than I already did!!

Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas
Rating: ★★★★
So I started rereading the Throne of Glass series this month and ohh how I have missed all these amazing characters and this amazing and beautiful world!!! I loved reading about them again and I am looking forward to rereading the rest of the series before Empire of Storms comes out!! Now that I have read this book for the second time I love it even more than I did when I read it for the first time!! Sarah J. Maas just has a way with words!! I truly love everything she writes!! This series is absolutely PHENOMENAL!! Everyone should read it!! Trust me it is worth your time!! :)

  1. I feel like an amateur compared to your reading for this month... But I plan on finishing at least three books in August. I don't even remember finishing one book during the month of July. I bet I did, but not sure...

    1. Oh don't feel that way!! I normally don't read this much :) I just had too much time I guess :)
