August 2016 Wrap Up

Okay, I only read 5 books this month… which would normally be nice amount of books but since it’s summer vacation I am kind of disappointed in myself :) In my defense I was on a holiday with a friend for a week so I didn’t exactly have time to read :) I also went on a three-day trip with my family so again less time to read :)

Throne of Glass reread – Sarah J. Maas

Rating: ★★★★★

Even though I have already read all the books once, this series never seizes to amaze me!! It made my heart race and the ending of Crown of Midnight still left me speechless as did the endings of Heir of Fire and Queen of Shadows :) I read this series first over a year ago and it was so amazing to again read about this amazing world and its characters!! I missed them all so much!! I cannot wait for Empire of Storms to release in less than a week, LESS THAN A WEEK!!! I’M SO EXCITED!!! Seriously that book is probably going to be the end of us :) I’m still dying to read it though!!

We Awaken – Calista Lynne
Rating: ★★★★

This was a really interesting and original story! It’s a kind of magical realism with asexuality as one of the main topics! It’s about a girl named Victoria whose brother is in a coma. Then one night she gets a message from him through Ashlinn, the girl who creates her dreams. And from then Ashlinn and Victoria see each other more often and Ashlinn helps Victoria understand her asexuality. This was a really meaningful book and it really makes you think about certain things!! I did a full review on this book which you can find here: We Awaken – Calista Lynne

The Blade Itself – Joe Abercrombie
Rating: ★★★★

This book was really dark and twisted and I loved it!! It had really dark humor which was really fun to read for once!! I have to admit that I still don’t really know what it’s about actually as so many things happened in this book! But I am planning on reading the second book soon and finding it out!! I’d definitely recommend this book if you like a bit of dark fantasy with equally dark humor!! I certainly really enjoyed reading it!!
